Privacy and data protection

Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 22, 2026

This policy explains how jobscraper collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data when people visit JobScraper or use its job discovery, CV analysis, matching, and application-management services.

1. Who Controls Your Data

jobscraper is responsible for the personal data described in this policy. Privacy and data-rights requests may be sent to roothexer@gmail.com.

Where an organization provides JobScraper to its candidates or members, that organization may separately control information it submits or manages.

2. Information We Process

Account data includes your name, email address, authentication identifier, organization membership, plan, role, and account settings.

Job-search data includes target roles, locations, skills, salary and work-type preferences, saved jobs, application stages, notes, reminders, and communications you choose to store.

CV data includes uploaded files, extracted text, work history, education, skills, languages, contact details contained in the document, analysis results, and job compatibility scores.

Technical and support data may include IP address, device and browser information, timestamps, security events, diagnostic logs, usage events, cookie identifiers, and messages sent to support.

3. Why We Process Data

We process data to create and secure accounts, provide requested product features, analyze CVs, discover public job listings, rank opportunities, track applications, provide support, process payments, prevent abuse, and maintain service reliability.

Depending on the context and applicable law, processing is based on performance of our contract with you, your consent, compliance with legal obligations, or legitimate interests such as platform security, fraud prevention, product reliability, and service improvement.

Where consent is the legal basis, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing already performed.

4. Intelligent Processing and Matching

JobScraper may send selected CV text, profile information, and job descriptions to the platform's configured model provider to produce summaries, preference suggestions, compatibility scores, application drafts, and prioritization assistance.

These outputs are recommendations. JobScraper does not make hiring decisions and does not guarantee employment outcomes. Users should review generated content before relying on it or sending it to an employer.

The current product does not use automated processing to make a legally significant employment decision on behalf of an employer.

5. Public Job Information

JobScraper processes job information made publicly available by employers, applicant-tracking systems, official employment APIs, and permitted public career pages.

We do not intentionally collect private applicant data from job sources, bypass authentication, solve captchas, or access paywalled or restricted content.

6. Service Providers

We may use vetted providers for authentication, hosting, databases, file storage, payments, email, analytics, error monitoring, customer support, and model processing.

Providers receive only the information reasonably needed for their role and are subject to contractual, confidentiality, and security obligations where required.

Current infrastructure may include Clerk, Vercel, Railway, Supabase, Stripe, Google Analytics, Google Ad Manager, and the model provider selected by the JobScraper administrator.

Google Analytics is loaded only after analytics consent. Free users may voluntarily watch a rewarded advertisement to unlock a manual scraping run when that feature is enabled.

Accepting the Terms does not opt you into analytics or advertising. Those optional choices are controlled separately through Cookie settings.

7. International Transfers

Some providers may process data outside your country. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms, contractual safeguards, adequacy decisions, or another lawful basis.

Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your account and location.

8. Retention and Deletion

Account and product data is retained while your account is active and for a limited period afterward when needed for security, backup restoration, billing, dispute resolution, or legal compliance.

Deleted CVs and account data are removed from active systems without undue delay, subject to limited backup, fraud-prevention, and legal-retention requirements.

Specific retention periods may vary by data category and contractual requirements.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, export, restrict, or object to processing, and to withdraw consent.

Submit a request to roothexer@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing it. You may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

10. Security

We use tenant isolation, authenticated access, encrypted transport, restricted administrative credentials, provider access controls, logging, and other organizational and technical measures designed to protect personal data.

No online service can guarantee absolute security. Users must protect their credentials and notify us promptly of suspected unauthorized access.

11. Children

JobScraper is not intended for children under 16, or a higher minimum age where required by local law. We do not knowingly collect children's personal data without appropriate authorization.

13. Policy Changes and Contact

We may update this policy when the product, providers, or legal requirements change. Material changes will be communicated through the service or another appropriate channel.

Questions and privacy requests can be sent to roothexer@gmail.com.
